Hello, and welcome!

I am a fiber artist working primarily in “pictorial felt” with work ranging from hand-felted landscapes to large, mural sized felted wall hangings.

After learning to felt in Ireland, I fell in love with the process of creating with fleece, from Turkish rug making to creating hats and mittens. I became fascinated with the possibilities of using the fiber “pictorially” to create artwork.

I have been an artist and teacher for over 30 years, working with clay and fiber, and more recently botanical printing. I am a former gallery owner and museum curator, and I exhibit my artwork at a range of galleries across the United States.

I have a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts, am a certified teacher, and have taught at all levels, including college level art history courses.

I also lead Art-Travel courses in the United States and Europe, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter for updates! Learn more about my art in my portfolio, or at www.riverrunarts.org and my tours at www.authentictravelandtours.com.

I live on Madeline Island in Lake Superior, a constant source of inspiration for felted art.
The ever-changing sky, water and sunsets are magnificent!

I have also traveled extensively in Ireland, Scotland and France, and the images of those landscapes seem to continually arise in my work.
